Jason Marks Named New President Of Mackler Associates

Mackler Associates proudly announces that Jason S. Marks is its new president, having previously served as Director of Operations and Vice-President/CFO.  Mr. Marks has been with Mackler Associates for 18 years.

A lifelong resident of St. Louis, Mr. Marks demonstrated a gift for teaching in elementary school when teachers asked him to help tutor classmates in a variety of subjects.  He excelled academically, receiving a National Merit scholarship in high school – a foreshadowing of his future with standardized test preparation.  He attended the Honors College at the University of Missouri-Columbia, graduating magna cum laude with majors in political science, economics and sociology.  He earned his law degree from Washington University, where he was a Scholar in Law recipient.  He practiced law full time, both in private practice and as an appellate public defender, for eight years before joining Mackler Associates.  An accomplished writer, Mr. Marks has published numerous law review articles, one of which was cited in a brief in a major civil rights case before the United States Supreme Court.

“I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and an equal passion to help others discover their own inner academic mastery.  I choose to tutor and mentor students of all ages because I enjoy the challenge of turning frustration into triumph, self-doubt into self-confidence, and giving young minds a set of skills and inner belief that begins a path of lifetime success.” -Jason Marks, President.

Mackler Associates has been providing students from grade school to grad school expert tutoring, test preparation and mentoring services for over 35 years, and Mr. Marks looks forward to continuing and expanding these program offerings.  He notes that what makes Mackler unique is its individualized, customized client-centered approach.  “We begin with a needs and goals assessment in an engaging initial meeting, craft a specific plan forward, and get to work,” with Mr. Marks taking a holistic approach that finds him alternately working on subject matter tutoring, study and organizational skills, mastery of standardized testing, college and career path analysis and more.  “Students tell me I make the material relatable and accessible. They also appreciate having one person to assist with so many different academic issues.  We develop a strong rapport and trust that reinforces the growing self-confidence students display.  Parents focus not only on the tangible progress they see their children make, but also the personal development – happier, more independent and capable young adults.”

Mr. Marks wants every client to succeed and surpass their initial expectations.  “Our clients really ‘get’ what we do and why we are a great investment.  They see the dividends – not just in the higher grades and test scores and self-confidence, but also the big scholarships and expanded college opportunities.”

The Mackler slogan – Moving Minds Forward – really reflects the mission of the company and its commitment to academic improvement.  “Clients come back years later and tell us how a skill or strategy we taught just helped them close a business deal or solve a case.  Knowledge is a gift that keeps on giving, and we feel humbled that we have had that kind of long-term positive impact on people’s lives.”

Mr. Marks intends to keep Mackler Associates moving forward for years to come.
